Mentoring Belgium

Mapping Mentoring: Making Employment Mentoring in Belgium Visible

About the project

This project aims to make employment mentoring in Belgium more visible by mapping and measuring the work of Mentoring Belgium's 9 member organizations. One possible direction is a visual map of mentoring actors by region, with key data such as city, mentee and mentor profiles, and program duration. The same data could then feed a sector-wide impact analysis, looking at the number of mentoring pairs, mentors trained, job or training outcomes, and soft skills gained. The project could also contribute to a shared theory of change or a common data-collection approach to support advocacy.

About Mentoring Belgium

Employment mentoring is a voluntary, unpaid relationship between an experienced mentor and a job seeker (mentee) with the goal of achieving sustainable inclusion in the labor market and society. The mentor provides personalized support and tailored advice on a regular basis. By sharing experiences and knowledge, the mentor and mentee work together to strengthen the mentee’s autonomy, self-confidence, and skills. The relationship is initiated, facilitated, and supported by a professional organization.
